Great Grandparents

We decided to make one last trip down to Cincinnati to visit with my Grandma and Grandpa before they headed down to Florida for the winter in mid November.  As usual, it was a weekend full of visiting and fun activities.

My mom and I started out by taking Gabriel down to the Duke Energy train exhibit at the museum.  He got a kick out of running around and checking everything out.  There was one room filled with a giant model train setup of maybe 6-8 tracks.  It was so massive and intricate.  The men running the trains seemed just as giddy about them as the kids.  Gabriel loved this room so much he didn't want to leave!  He was also intrigued by the bigger train kids could ride on, but the crowded line proved too much and he decided he would rather just watch.  Unfortunately, we forgot the camera to capture any of his cuteness.

After naptime, my Grandparents and Uncle came over to hang out and have dinner.  Great Grandpa especially liked playing tea party with Gabriel.  There was also lots of reading and ball playing to be had.  It was really nice to see them and catch up as Gabriel will have turned 2 and baby #2 will arrive before they return to Ohio.

We ended the night with a trip to the symphony.  My mom and Bill go often and periodically will take us along when we are in town.  This time, my mom graciously decided to babysit while Bill, Will and I went to the symphony.  The evening was filled with Russian music including a beautifully performed piano concerto.  Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it.
All dressed up for the symphony

We ended the weekend on Sunday with a trip to church in the morning and an afternoon of more visiting and time for my mom and Bill to spend enjoying Gabriel's toddler antics.  All in all, a fun action packed weekend.
