Last weekend, I took Gabriel and Eli down to Cincinnati to visit with Grandma, Grandpa, Great Grandma and Great Grandpa. My grandparents had just returned from Florida and this was the first time they were meeting Eli. Will was doing tech stuff for a wedding and church services all weekend so he was unable to join us.
It was a little crazy getting us all packed and out the door at between times I would need to feed Eli, but we managed to make it down late on Friday evening. On Saturday morning, we planned to go to a children's concert featuring a trio of musicians and puppets. Even though it was pouring down rain, we packed everyone up and headed over. To everyone's surprise, Eli was the one who enjoyed the concert more. I think Gabriel was a little preoccupied with getting back to Grandma and Grandpa's house to play with the pool balls.
Saturday evening, my Mom and Bill headed out to dinner and the symphony with some friends. This left the boys and I solo. We ending up picking up my Grandpa and heading over to Applebee's for dinner. My Grandma wasn't feeling well so she decided to wait until the next day to see us, but Grandpa got a big kick out of seeing Gabriel and meeting Eli.
On Sunday morning we headed off to church. Then my Grandparents came back with us to enjoy a great afternoon with their great grandsons. Grandpa was so excited to play with Eli we couldn't even get him to sit still long enough to take a picture! It was great to see them after a winter away in Florida. We look forward to many more visits in upcoming months :-)
Our trip back home was pretty uneventful, except for a stop at the rest area where Gabriel opted to use his potty chair outside in the van rather than going in to use a big potty. Haha!
