Ever since Gabriel came into our lives, the dogs have been a bit jealous about being displaced from their position as far as attention getting goes. As he has grown older, they are starting to realize he can be fun, play with them and maybe occasionally throw a ball for Riley to fetch (Lola prefers lazier pursuits ;-)) This year, Gabriel has wanted to start walking the dogs as well. They aren't too sure about it, but seem to cooperate reasonably well.
Eli is also starting to take a shine to the dogs. He is much gentler with them than Gabriel was as a baby (although he still does pull the occasional ear) He loves to touch their faces, give them pets and hugs, and slobber all over them. As long as they are also getting pets from mama, the pups are pretty content to let him love on them. It's so cute to see them interact, although it usually results in a mini bath for Eli to remove all the fur and doggie kisses :)
